Introduction to the Pythagorean Tarot

More than 30 years ago John Opsopaus designed the Pythagorean Tarot based on the oldest Tarot traditions, ancient Pythagorean occult lore and numerology, alchemy, and Jungian archetypes. It is intended as a Pagan tarot rooted in the classical tradition, removing the inventions of Lévi, Papus, the Golden Dawn, Waite, Crowley, et al., and attempting to reach Its archetypal core. It is based in the earliest historical evidence, including the earliest tarots (Visconti-Sforza etc.), classical mythology, and possible predecessors in dice divination. It is organized by Pythagorean numerology and employs alchemical symbolism as explained in Jungian psychology. Although it is explained in detail in his “Pythagorean Tarot” book (nearly 700 pages!), in this class John Opsopaus will introduce its unique features and explain how to use the deck for divination.
