Use Yarn for a Simple Crochet Knotwork Spell

Grab a skein of yarn (natural fiber like cotton preferred) and optionally a crochet hook (Size H/8/5.00mm works well) or use your fingers - and we will make a crochet chain so you can chant one of your desires for each wish you have (it can be as many or few as you like). Once you make a chain as long as the span of your arms - we can then do the chant and tie the 9 knots to further solidify your magical intentions and prepare for manifestation of your desires! While the 9 knots here demonstrates 3 times 3, we will also discuss single-digit numerology (that can be applied to multiple digits when added together and reduced).

There are many ways to further enhance your spellwork, and knotwork combines well with other types of spellwork like herbs, colors, candles, jars, trinkets (even buttons) - use your imagination! For instance, you can double or triple the yarn to integrate two/three colors that relate to your spell. If you wish to overdye the chain you make before you knot it in the 9 knots, you can easily use vegetable dyes from plants you may find outside, or even from castoffs in the kitchen or produce aisle (many of which have their own magical properties). The yarn can hold scent of relevant essential oils. Get it?

We’ll lastly discuss some ideas for what you can do with your completed knotwork chains while you await manifestation, or how to dispose if manifested (or if the work is for banishing). Adding knotwork to your spellkit is quite satisfying and Lisa Allen looks forward to seeing all of you!
