The divine power wielded by ancient Egyptian gods and kings alike was known as “Heka”. It was a force created by the gods in order to maintain cosmic order and ensure the prosperity of the kingdom. As such, it was considered to be the power that made thoughts manifest through spells, amulets, and sacred rituals. Yet, “Heka” was more than some kind of mystical force that influenced the world of all things. It was also depicted as a god, a neter, who, according to some legends, created the universe and all that resides within it.
In this workshop, step into the world of the ancient Egyptians to where the magical intertwines with everyday existence, explore some of the underlying principles found not only within Egyptian myth, but also those which have influenced many magical traditions today.
