Most pagan religious practices embrace egalitarianism and the natural balance—yet as these subaltern spiritualities become more mainstream, they are often subtly annexed by (sometimes well-meaning) patriarchal forces. There are recognizable markers of this colonization, though, and once you know what to look for, you too can act to prevent subversion of your belief system.

Join Dr. Collie for a workshop on avoiding spiritual colonization by preventing the patriarchal Heroic Mindset from taking over the unifying mythic stories of your chosen spirituality. We will also learn the subaltern Heroine’s Path (more accurately, a non-gender-specific activism) for maintenance of a more balanced, tolerant spirituality. The Goddess is integral to Collie’s own sacred work, so this subject is near and dear to her heart—She is for many of us.

In this workshop we will:

• Examine the divisive tenets of the patriarchal Heroic Mindset, as embodied in both ancient and modern religions.
• Make practical and magical plans to prevent colonization of your spirituality, via the invitation of the Heroine’s path: shedding fear of change, the scarcity mindset, and hierarchical thinking.
• Devise a personal devotional path that roots your spiritual and secular activism in the immediate present and the optimistic future, to counter the currently pervasive cultural myth of division and collapse.
