The ancient Greek deity Pan, known as the God of the Wild, was portrayed as a man with goat feet and horns. He was a shepherd god and a hunting god presiding over small animals and birds. He was a god of fields, forests, and caves. He symbolized procreation, invented the panpipe, and was capable of causing panic. Despite being considered a minor deity in ancient Greece, he remains a vital force within contemporary pop culture as well as a favorite deity to work with among practitioners of magick and Witchcraft.
