A Livestream Class with Miss Aida

Sunday, February 9 at 6:45 pm in The Veiled Sanctum

Learn about a beautiful religion that has been unjustly misrepresented to the general public. Miss Aida, a Santera and daughter of a Santera and Cuban immigrant (born in the very early 1900s), will introduce you to many of the Orishas (the deities of Santeria) and teach you about their loving and caring natures. She will also share a few stories of her actual encounters with them.

You will learn that anyone is welcome to petition or venerate the Orishas, and Miss Aida will show you how to do so. You will also learn that unjustified rumors of their wrath toward non-initiates are simply that: UNJUSTIFIED RUMORS!

Santeria is a combination of an African Traditional Religion and Catholicism. If you're familiar with some of the canonized Catholic saints, you will easily develop familiarity with many of the Orishas.

As with the hierarchical structure of the Catholic religion—from the church-going masses to deacons, priests, bishops, etc.—Miss Aida will teach you the hierarchical structure within the Santeria faith and how it occurs. In other words, she will simplify the different roles within the religion to give you a better understanding of its framework.

This class will fulfill many unanswered questions about Santeria, alleviate fears, and help you identify those who misrepresent the beautiful religion of Santeria!
