Calling Across the Veil: An Introduction to Ancestor Work

Just because your loved ones are no longer physical doesn’t mean we can’t go to them for assistance, guidance, and more! Our ancestors are our first line of defense and are always ready and able to support you from the other side. This class will be an in-depth exploration of how to set up an ancestor altar as well as understanding what to include, what offerings to leave, and how to care for your altar. This class focuses on universally accepted practices and methods of venerating ancestors and ancestral spirits from a wide range of traditions. In addition to working with ancestral spirits, a portion of the class will be devoted to an introduction to working with La Santa Muerte, the Saint of Death in some Latin Catholic traditions. During this portion, attendees will gain an understanding of the basics of respectfully building a relationship with and petitioning Santa Muerte for guidance and support.
