Spirit work is a core theme in witchcraft, and you might bring to mind the ancestors or the genius loci. While most are familiar with such practices and concepts, spirit work is a broad and deep pool and can also include more obscure aspects, including finding the muse in the magical and harnessing that spirit of inspiration and creativity.

Throughout history, many artists and creators have sought their muse, a spiritual journey often leading to some profound personal understanding that imbues their craft with a spiritual aspect, transforming the mundane for both the creator and the audience. It's the feeling you get when you read a moving or powerful quote or stand before a painted masterpiece.

Emma Kathryn is a Witch and Obeah woman. She is also the author of several books, including “Reclaiming Ourselves” and “Reclaiming Food” (Gods&Radicals Press), and “Witch Life” and “Season Songs” (Llewellyn). In this workshop, Emma will guide you through using magical techniques and tools to inspire and develop your own writing. Come along and find your own muse from within your own witchcraft or magical practice. After all, are witches not creators, weaving magic and wonder into the mundane? Let that same energy and spirit transform your own writing!

This is a practical workshop, so participants should bring paper and pen, tarot or oracle cards, and a mirror or reflective surface for divination.
