This lecture explores important modern research into the chemical, magical, and healing constituents of plants. One of Elie’s most learned teachers was passionate about discussing every plant on Earth. His 5,000-item book collection on herbalism was a testament to his profound knowledge and dedication. His ambitious goal was to catalog every magical and medicinal plant on every continent and compare their properties and uses today, starting from scratch. He suggested that each plant be worked with by medical herbalists, magical practitioners, and psychics to determine its best use.

The old method, found in the works of Hippocrates, Paracelsus, and Culpepper, relied on the Law of Correspondences. For example, red plants were associated with Mars, night-blooming plants with the Moon, and east-facing flowers with the Sun. This formula of association was used in almost every herbal compendium into the modern era. Even Scott Cunningham’s “Encyclopedia of Magical Herbs,” published in 1985, borrowed information from these older herbals.

However, modern science allows us to investigate the chemical compounds actually found in plants. Current practitioners, magicians, psychics, and healers now have new models to use. Let’s find the actual chemical compounds in plants and then relate them to corresponding planets. We will examine the planet, element, quality, and energy associated with each plant. She will include a bibliography and a worksheet for you to print out and use in your study of herbs.
