The 2026 Lunar New Year begins for most on the New Moon, Tuesday, February 17th, and will be venerated by over 2 billion people. The first major celebration of the year 4723 among East and Southeast Asian cultures, it is honored until the full moon arrives. This is a time for feasting and fasting, venerating ancestral, domestic, and celestial divinities, and energetically aligning yourself and your household for the year ahead. Sure, Google will tell you it is the Year of the Fire Horse and offer a cookie-cutter horoscope—but what about the greater practice?
