From the burial of superstitious objects and the destruction or abandonment of magical tools, to weapons of special significance cast into water, we will identify some of those key practices in the ancient world, what people might have been thinking when they made these depositions, and how the value of these deposition items might influence us in our magical work today.

Deposition of ritual and magical items was not a mere afterthought for our ancestors. In fact, the way in which these items were disposed of - whether through burial, offering, or destruction - often held significant ritual and magical importance. We explore the disposal of magical items in ancient magical practices, and how this is documented in archaeological evidence, grimoires, and other historical records.
