Subtitle: Unearthing the Sacred in the Weeds of the Coastal Southeast

Class Description

Stop looking for magic in expensive shops and start looking under your feet. In this session, we strip away the mystery of herbalism to reveal the potent magic waiting in your own backyard. Whether you are walking the sandy Grand Strand or a suburban garden path, the plants often dismissed as “weeds” are actually some of the most powerful allies for wellness, folklore, and spellwork.

Join veteran practitioner Charlotte as she teaches you how to identify, ethically harvest, and utilize local flora, like the resilient Dandelion, the protective Mullein, and the tenacious Chamberbitter. We will explore the Holy Trinity of plant use: Folk Lore (the history), Magical Intent (the spirit), and Wellness (the body). You’ll leave being able to see your backyard not as a chore to be mowed, but as a living apothecary and a sacred altar.

The Breakdown

  • The Forager’s Ethical Code

Permission and Respect: How to ask a plant before harvesting.

Safety First: Identifying look-alikes (especially important for beginners!).

The 1-in-10 Rule: Ensuring the local ecosystem thrives while you forage.

  • Profile of the Backyard Greats

Mullein: Using its velvety leaves for protection and its tall stalks for spirit lights or courage spells.

Dandelion: Harnessing the root for divination and the flower for wish-making and persistence.

Plantain and Chickweed: The First Aid of the magical world, healing the skin and soothing frayed tempers in the home.

Chamberbitter: Working with this stubborn invader to break through obstacles or shatter a hex.
