Bio for Zsuzsanna Budapest
Zsuzsanna Budapest fled the oppression of Communist Hungary as a teen to become a freedom fighter for the rights of women in the United States. Her arrest in 1975 for reading the tarot led to a landmark case making divination a legal right in the state of California. The Susan B. Anthony Coven #1, which Z founded, opened the Feminist Wicca shop, and from that space grew much of the modern Women's Spiritual movement and the Dianic Tradition. Starting with the publication of The Feminist Book of Lights and Shadows in 1975, Z has written multiple books, traveled the world speaking, and led women to a new way of viewing spirituality.
