Bio for Ruth Barrett

Ruth is a feminist Goddess spirituality foremother, seasoned ritualist, and ordained Dianic High Priestess dedicated to female-centered magic and mysteries. Ruth is also a musician/priestess, mountain dulcimer recording artist, and singer whose numerous recordings beginning in 1980 have been among the pioneering musical works in the U.S. Pagan and Goddess Spirituality Movement. Her most recent recording is “Once And Future Amazons.” Ruth has taught magical and ritual arts at women’s and Pagan festivals and conferences across the United States and abroad, and also teaches classes online.

She is the author of “Women’s Rites, Women’s Mysteries” and has contributed to several other anthologies, including “Stepping Into Ourselves: An Anthology of Writings of Priestesses and Foremothers Of The Women’s Spirituality Movement: Elders and Visionaries,” and contributed the entry on “Ritual” to “Women in World Religions: Faith and Culture Across History.” Ruth is the co-founder of Temple of Diana, Inc., a 501(c)(3) Dianic temple.
