Bio for Dr S.D. Espinosa
Dr. Espinosa was born into a Latino Catholic family and earned her Doctorate in Sacred Theology from the University of Montreal in 2007. Her master's thesis and doctoral dissertation were both on medieval and early modern depictions of and devotions to Mary, emphasizing her ability to empower devotees who were not Church hierarchy. She has since left the Catholic Church and Christianity as a whole, but still promotes Mary as an ally and advocate to all who invoke her in good faith. She lives in southern Arizona with her cats, plants, and books.
